Who are we...

The Dunlap JFL is a member of the JFLOCI providing our young boys & girls with a positive, team building experience through our Cheer, Flag & Tackle Programs.  We have a strong tradition in our community that we are looking to build upon and we work closely with the High School program.  We are committed to ensuring a positive youth football experience and advancing player safety.  Youth football is about teaching proper fundementals and techniques of the game.  We want every player, parent and spectator to have a safe, fun experience that will help develop team building skills that hopefully last a lifetime.

We are part of USA Football's Heads Up Football program.  USA Football, the sports national governing body, educates more youth and high school coaches combined than any other organization in the United States.

All coaches will be trained in Heads Up Football techniques before leading their teams this season.  All our coaches will attend our League Exclusive clinic hosted by USA Football Coaches Clinic.

Changes

2019 News

We have some new JFL rules and regulations to share!!

The following rule changes are official and take affect this season:

The birthday cutoff was moved to Sept 1st. This means your player's age level will go by their age as of 9/1. This was done to coincide with the school age cut off.

Divisions will be split by age: 8yrs, 9u, 10u, 11u, 12u & 14u. 8U-11U will play on Saturdays. 12 & 14u will play Sundays.

Non-Ball Carrier rules: 8-80lbs, 9-90lbs, 10-100lbs, 11-115lbs, 12-130lbs, 14-155lbs

Season will begin July 25th with the first week of games on Aug 24th (no jamborees)

We will have playoffs with a superbowl. 7 game schedule with everyone making the playoffs.

Playoff rankings are based on points- 10points for a win. 10 points for a spread of 10 or less, 5 points for a spread of 11-20 and 1 point for anything greater than 20 point win. This is an incentive for coaches to not be jerks when they play that game against a bad team and try to humilate them, They should hopefully play other players in roles that they would not normally have an opportunity making it fun for all.
